Youth for Change Bangladesh Foundation (YFC-BD) is a youth-led Non-Government Organization, working in partnership with organizations and governments to create positive change in society. Youth For Change launched in 2015 as a project of Plan International and became an independent entity in 2018. Youth For Change Bangladesh Foundation has been registered as a youth organization under the Dept. of Youth Development, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms under the Societies Registration Act 1860 of the Govt. of Bangladesh and officially registered under NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB Registration no:3444).

About Space To Lead:

The Space to Lead (S2L) programme, funded by SIDA through Plan International, will run from October 2025 to December 2028 in Bangladesh. The programme aims to strengthen a vibrant civil society where children and youth, especially girls and young women aged 10 to 24, can exercise their rights and experience gender equality. It focuses on supporting youth-led organisations and advancing SRHR and protection from violence, while building civil society participation, improving child protection and referral access, and strengthening SRHR decision-making and services. All activities integrate gender and inclusion, conflict sensitivity, and climate resilience, and follow a harmonised global reporting framework with shared indicators.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

· The Advocacy and Capacity Development Officer supports the Project Coordinator in planning and implementing advocacy initiatives under the Space to Lead programme. This includes organizing community, local, and national-level advocacy events, consultations, and policy dialogues. The officer facilitates youth-led campaigns on SRHR, gender equality, child protection, and the prevention of violence while collaborating with government authorities, civil society actors, and community groups to strengthen youth participation in civic spaces.

· The officer conducts needs assessments and organizational capacity assessments of youth-led CSOs, identifies capacity gaps, and assists in developing and implementing tailored capacity development plans. They facilitate trainings, workshops, mentoring sessions, and technical support on leadership, advocacy, safeguarding, gender equality, SRHR, youth participation, and organizational governance to strengthen the capacity of youth-led organizations.

· The role ensures meaningful participation of young people, especially girls and young women aged 10 to 24, across all project activities. The officer supports the design and implementation of youth-led initiatives such as Innovation Labs, Youth Summits, peer networks, and leadership development activities while promoting safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive environments for youth engagement.

· The officer assists in preparing monthly and quarterly work plans and helps coordinate the smooth implementation of advocacy and capacity-building activities. They manage logistical arrangements, communication, and coordination with field teams in Barguna and Sunamganj, ensuring full compliance with project guidelines, safeguarding standards, and donor requirements.

· The officer contributes to monitoring and documentation by collecting activity data, field reports, attendance records, success stories, and lessons learned. They support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and assist the Project Coordinator in meeting donor reporting and global indicator requirements.

· When assigned by the Project Coordinator, the officer represents YFC-BD in local-level meetings, workshops, and coordination forums. They maintain effective communication with stakeholders and partners and support visibility and communication activities related to advocacy and capacity development.

· Safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusion must be upheld in all project activities. The officer ensures safe and respectful participation environments, applies safeguarding standards in their work, and reports concerns in line with organizational policies.

· The officer performs any additional tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator or management to support effective implementation of the Space to Lead project.

General Duties

· Support the Project Coordinator with routine project operations, including planning, coordination, and follow-up of daily activities.

· Maintain regular communication with project staff and partners to ensure smooth workflow and timely implementation of tasks.

· Assist with basic administrative tasks such as drafting emails, preparing meeting notes, organizing documents, and managing schedules.

· Coordinate logistical arrangements for meetings, trainings, workshops, and field activities, ensuring all necessary materials and resources are prepared.

· Keep project files, reports, attendance sheets, and other documents properly organized and updated.

· Provide general technical and operational support to youth-led CSOs and programme participants as directed by the Project Coordinator.

· Ensure that all assigned tasks and activities comply with YFC-BD policies, donor requirements, and safeguarding standards.

· Participate in internal team meetings, reflection sessions, and capacity-building opportunities as required.

· Perform any other general tasks assigned by the Project Coordinator or management to support smooth project operations.

Educational Qualification

Required Skills-

· Good understanding of advocacy, youth engagement, and community mobilization.

· Ability to design and facilitate trainings, workshops, and capacity-building sessions.

· Basic knowledge of SRHR, gender equality, safeguarding, and child protection.

· Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with youth and community groups.

· Good documentation, reporting, and data-collection skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively with teams, partners, and youth-led organizations.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Proficiency in MS Office and online communication tools.

· Willingness to travel to project areas when required.
